2nd Blog

...So i watched a bunch of clips of Comedy Central's "Big Lake" and it is a Big Lake of Diarrhea. The target audience seems to be 18-30 year old. and they are trying to catch on to the new style of humor, but it can not really be captured on television....I think at least.
It works better in movies (like Hot Rod, and UHF) and/or short shows like the shows on Adult Swim. I think that this show was chosen for Comedy Central because the only good shows Comedy Central have are South Park, Tosh.0, and I guess the Daily Show and Colbert Report. Other wise Comedy Central should be called, Lack Of Comedy Central.
Back to "Big Lake." There are some cool people acting on the show. But even though they have been plenty of TV shows and movies, they still seem to act terribly. That's not to say that I didn't laugh, but I didn't LOL... just L.
My prediction? I think that this show will go for a season, maybe two and then be done with. But sometimes mediocre shows get picked up for second, third sometimes fourth season... I mean look at How I Met Your Mother.

I also started watching more "Outsourced" clips, but that can wait till my next blog:
Oh Blog, I Hardly Knew Ye.

  1. Doesn't this seem to be the story of every new show Comedy Central puts on the air lately? Netflix is a graveyard of Comedy Central shows with talented comedians that are not funny to mildly funny (still better than most stuff NBC puts on) that lasted one or so seasons. Dog Bites Man had Zach Galifianakis and still crashed and burned after one season. I'm starting to think that this is all Comedy Central's fault because their marketing has never made one of their shows a hit. South Park took off and they didn't have to do a thing and really put Comedy Central on the map, Chappelle's Show another that really wasn't marketed hard and took off, Tosh.0 has amazing word of mouth right now, Futurama had a built in audience, really what has this network ever made a success? I think you are right about this show lasting a season or two, then it's off to join the Michael and Michael's , Stella's, Halfway House's, and That's My Bush's in the Netflix after life.

  2. You sir, are completely correct about comedy central. It's the same old recycled garbage minus a few shows they just milk to death. Big Lake didn't seem too appealing. First off, Will Ferral isn't funny; period. It's like Adam Sandler, you seen one of his movies you've seen them all. (I still like Sandler movies though :3) If anything the show will probably succeed because masses are full of dumb asses. "Har har har dat guy on da television is teh funneh!" *barfs his dignity* In any case, this definitly will not be a show I'm going to watch. Comedy central got Futurama and that's seriously what they are riding on right now because it's a great show. This is just another time filler that happens to have a big (dumb) star in it.
